Default H&R spring and MM c/c install FAIL

Well my H&R SS springs and MM c/c arrived from American Muscle on Tuesday. Tuesday night the girlfriend and I had plans to go out to eat after work, so that's cool, I'll install them on Wednesday. Wednesday night - I have the mustang in my parents' garage and dad decides it is necessary to change the oil in his truck that night. Ok, whatever it is his garage so I back out and let him go at it and get all my tools lined up and read over the instructions again. I get my car back in there, finally good to go. I put the key on the one lug nut lock and put some pressure on it....and snap. WTH

Apparently I am stronger than I thought. So as of now, I can't even take my wheels off. I called McGard today and they will replace the key free of charge but now I have to wait to bring my stang closer to mother earth.

Definitely could have been worse, but still sucks especially when you're pumped to get something put on and done. I snapped a stud once taking a lug nut off my old Grand Prix, that was fun.

Sorry to hear that man! I recently bought and installed some H&R Super Sports, and decided the other day to get some MM c&c plates , and the Steeda bump steer kit.

When i do my install hopefully i don't run into the same issue lol.

Yeah it could be worse for sure. I'm glad it happened right in the beginning and not on the second wheel or something. Hopefully the new key comes soon. I'll post pictures after the drop!

#1 reason I dont use keyed lugs/locks....

Had one strip on me, had one get stolen by an angry Valet...never again.

^That's one reason why I don't let valet's park my car. And what on earth was he so angry about anyway? If you don't mind me asking.

Anyway, I broke my lug bolt in the beginning of spring. I didn't even know who makes my locking lugs either since it came with the car. I got lucky and I was able to tap the lug in, to get the other ones off, but I was very scared.

OP, At least you know the company name to get a replacement.
