Instead of adding niteshade then clearing over it, why not just mix a little black in with the clear and do it in one step? That's how most shops tint tails. I would think it would work with the rims as well.

Yes..I agree with you on this.
Tinting the clear coat with black base coat or black pearl will work.
Its basicaly called candy coating.

The more coats the darker the tinting so you can get it to the shade you desire

i feel like that would get expensive quick, nightshade is $12 a can lol, if i end up spending $100 on paint, $60 on clear another 100-150 on getting my wheels how i want them and remounted i might as well buy new wheels, wider ones.

Hey SVT..Heres another thing you could try.
Not sure how good it works but their brake caliper paint worked well.
May want to give this a try

GL and post some pics when your wheels are complete what ever you decide to do.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth it. Especially with stock wheels. Hell, you can find people selling used aftermarket wheels with tires for $400-500 in good condition

First what do you mean he is going to cut them? Second I think it will look good. Third widening is not cheap but transwheel does a great job we send them slit of wheels to straighten.

He means they are going to clean up te lips of the wheels on a lathe or something similar. Cutting is a machine shop term.

I might try that duplicolor stuff O.o.

Yeah, what teej said, my friend is a slow machinest(sp?) And is going to cut the lips down ( thinner ) to rid of curb rash. I saw some wheels he did and you honestly cannot tell unless someone comes up to you and says look the front lip is thinner than the back. He is doing it for $5 a wheel, said it'd take him 20 mins tops. $5 for dismount, $10 for remount and balancing, which also will switch my weights to the inside. If the whole thing doesn't work out how i like em, i can always sell them, im guessing right now they aren't worth ****, but if i get them back to good condition, i can always just re-polish them back to aluminum and sell them for $4-$500. Then i can finally buy some wider wheels and tires.
