Just be patient, since this car wont be a DD just take some time to find the right deal. Sounds like the Mach 1 and c5 zo6 are just cars you'd settle with. IMO never settle. Get what you want. It sounds like a terminator is what you want so go get one!

a C5ZO6 is a much better car in pretty much every performance aspect.. theres no contest. Anyone who says different is just being a ford fanboy..

Very minimal mods needed to make a that vette faster than most people want for a street car.

The LSx can sound nasty, as well. While the Z06 does not initially have the supercharger whine, you could always add that yourself...

yeah I am trying to decide. I really want an limited production car which is why it came really down to the C5z or Cobra. I just have to decide if I want the raw brute power or the more balanced overall. Right now I am leaning more towards the Cobra just because I am more loyal to Ford and probably because I know more about it as opposed to the Vette.

My final decision will hopefully be made by driving both...will just take some time trying to find a Cobra that I can drive...

because of this right here I lean hard towards the vette. If you really want a mustang get the termi. They are not hard to find with minimal mods for under 24k. Hell I know of a couple 9 sec fully built terminators going for 25-27k. I wouldn't even waste my time with the mach.

yeah I think I will go out this weekend or next and test drive the Z06. We have a ton of chevy dealers so I am sure they have one. Then see how I feel about it. I have driven a regular C6 vette 6 speed and enjoyed it but dont remember it having that X factor that made me really want it. Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt mind having one, but it wasnt the car where I knew I had to have one...

yeah...since the Z06 is comparable to the C6 in terms of speed, I dont know how much more powerful I would want it. I say that now, but when I drove the C6, I knew if I had much more power then that it might get me into trouble.

Which mods are you talking about? Just trying to gain as much knowledge as I can....

Personally i would take a c6 over the C5zo6. I just overall like the car better. The motor in the c5z is the LS6 which is basically just an Ls1 from the camaro/trans am/base vette with a different set of heads/intake manifold and possibly a slightly different cam. The c6 has the ls2 which is a bit larger in the CI dept that the c5zo6.

LS motors respond well to the Heads/cam/intake/exhaust formula. Add a little spray into the mix and you have a pretty quick car.
