Default 6 inch Cowl. Too Big?

So I found this guy with a Cervinis 2000 Cobra R hood with a 6 inch cowl. The price is great $150 he's asking. But is 6 inches too big? I mean its just the price that has me really.

I want to hear your opinions. If anyone has a picture of a 6 inch cowl that would be awesome as well.

make sure to get a cobra r wing + lengthen the posts so it matches the cowl in height otherwise it'll look like poo...

but yea.. 6 inches is huge on a street car, even on a drag car it's a monster of a hood. You won't be able to see anything to the right of the front of the car lol.

Good to know. Should I be watching my backdoor too? Lol.

Anyway, yes I kind of thought 6 inches would be huge. I was thinking a 3 or 3.5 inch would be perfect. I just don't want to really buy it brand new at the moment. School first I guess....car a distant 3rd at the moment.

This is completely a personal preference question.
Personally, I don't like the cowl hoods (especially the BIG ones).
Unless you have something under there to justify it, I think a 6" cowl is WAY over the top. As mentioned above, you certainly won't be able to see much while driving.

See if you can find out why he is selling it so cheap. Maybe he is selling it for some of the reasons that have been mentioned. I'd at least want to know what he is replacing it with, and why.

GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide!

I'm kind of just hoarding parts. I'm still searching for a 4v motor too. I think the guy used to drag race with the car and he said that there is a chip in the bottom of the hood. I probably won't get it if that's the case. I don't want to deal with a partially broken hood or and bigger hassle.

Trueblue, I can see where you are coming from. I guess I have always liked the look of a cowl so it's kind of just a thing that I see it and I have always wanted it. In which case I just search for one every week.

It depends on how the cowl is measured. Some cowls are measured from the fenders to the highest point of the hood, while others are measured from the middle section up. 6 inches is big either way, but it may not be as enormous as some of you think depending on how it's measured. If the guy is selling it locally, why don't you just go look at it? Post some pics if you can.
