With $6-$700 in mod money you should go with the gears (3.73 manual 4.10 auto)
But remember that your speedo will need calibrating afterward.

Save some more dough and get a chip and dyno tune.

Don't do the cai and spacer. You'll regret it in a few months and wish you had done gears. I would recommend 4.10 gears if you plan on staying n/a. If later down the road you plan on adding f/i, I would go with 3.73 gears. I would also recommend lowering the car as it greatly improves the looks of the car and helps out in the handling department.

My 1st mode to my car was a cai, I have since taken it off and put the stock intake back on. I wish the 1st mod I had done was 4.10 gears. A nice sounding exhaust will always make driving the car more enjoyable. It won't add a lot of hp, if anything noticeable, but it'll really make you feel like you're driving a real muscle car. YouTube is a great resource for researching which exhaust YOU think sounds the best.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll definitely be getting some 4.10s at the very least.

-70mm Throttle Body
-Plenum
-Intake Spacer

Are these good as my first engine modifications? Will they go well together and about how much of a difference will I notice with all these things coming from stock? Any suggestions for better, low-budget mods?

Thanks.
Those are good mods, however I would forgo the plenum/spacer/throttle body. While you would notice a tiny bit more power from those, it's not worth the cost IMO unless you have a super/turbo charger. Put on an intake and catback exhaust or save for some rear gears or a blower.

I'm pretty sure for a pre-New Edge GT, you only need to change the plastic speedo gear, rather than recalibrating the speedometer via tune.

I agree with the PI swap, H/C/I. Definitely a must-do for pre-New Edge stangs. Next I would go exhaust. I found my O/R H-pipe unused for $50 ( and sold my stock midpipe for $75 ), but its for a long tube setup. If you're keeping stock headers, however, you should be able to scoop up a decent O/R pipe for ~$100, just shop around online.

If I were in your position, I'd probably do:

1. Gears
2. Shifter
3. Lower
4. Exhaust

Really depends on your budget. If you can afford it, full PI swap.

Skip the CAI and just get a K&N drop-in filter. Get some 4.10's, and get a PI swap for sure! TB and all that will be barely noticeable compared to PI swap and/or gears

4.10s
Save, then...
look on the forums and corral.net and look at some junkyards for PI heads
Call Nick McKinney and go w/ MHS 2's (cams)
Pick up a set of lightly used Longtubes
Tune (~300rwhp)

if you want 400rwhp...
PI heads/cams
save for blower
tune

Best of luck with whatever route you choose. Some of the guys on the forum that will be helpful that also have SN95 GT's are Lizzyfan and KugzGT. Lizzys car is a rocketship, and kugzy's car has the PI head swap, MHS 2's, longtubes, and is about to get tuned for nitrous and will probably be putting down north of 500rwtq on the juice.
