My car sit for a whole year and all I did was put fuel stabilizer in it and disconnected the battery. I did my R&R leave at the 8 month point and when I came home, I connected the battery and she started right up. Where will your car be stored? (what state)?

Full tank of gas and let it run for a couple minutes with stabilizer in it. Stabil is a good brand but probably any of them will work. You can find it at any auto parts store. Disconnect battery, if you are lucky it may still work next spring. If you have a way to store the battery somewhere where it can be plugged in get a battery tender (not a charger, it will over charge and cook it) and put on it. Fresh oil before and after. I would clean/replace air filter when you get home too. GL, take care, come home safe and thanks for your service.

My friend, that car cover will be a waste of money. I promise you within a month of you being gone, it will have flown off. Also, being that you are storing your car in San Diego you should't have any issues. Like I said eailier, I stored my car (in my garage) for a 8 month stint and it get's cold as hell in Missouri. Like someone else said you can buy the stabilizer from any parts store.

So full tank of gas, oil change and let the stabilizer run thru the engine for a few mins. OK sounds good. As far as the car cover I am going to bungee it down or something. I am going to find a way so it wont blow off. I dont want my car sitting in the sun.
