Looks like you have the same color Stang as me, Thats the stock color right? I did very little research a while back and found the official name as "Royal Purple". Are you using "deep violet" as a descriptor or an official name? Do you have a credible resource to confirm that? In the little research I did I also found that there were 1400 made in that color between '96 and 97' V6 and V8s. You know how many 96' GTs were made? My bad for all the questions I havnt talked to anyone with the same color Stang. I've only seen two others and 1 of them was a V6

96-98 cobras have sra.. 99-04 cobras have irs with 3.55. 03-04 cobra irs being 31 spline, and alot better than the 99-01 cobra irs.
You should probably read up before you buy a cobra rear, because IRS is not a direct bolt in on a 94-98 car.

Sorry for the multiple posts but BTW I asked my father what the boost was and he said 16. I always remembered it as 12-12.5. I can try to get ahold of the dyno sheet but the car doesnt run at the moment(something for a different thread) so I dont know for sure.

they made like 5000 DV Mustangs in 96 alone...
Mystic was a rare color but only offered in the Cobra's and even then they almost made 2000 of them

mine also has the 248a option on it, so its actually a GTS

NEW MEMBER HERE. Im new to car stuff and I Just bought a SuperCharged 96 GT Stang. The guy said it makes about 400HP but it hasnt been Dinoed or tuned... I guess thats my first question cuz I dont really know what that means. The accelerator is already pretty fast so I think im just gonna do like chrome rims and stuff to make it look cool. I love the way Mustangs look with all the european stuff and stickers. When I get home today im gonna try and replace some of the fluids using online tutorial videos. I read a post here that said I should flush the engine with water after i drain the oil? Should i put some soap or detergent in it? I would think that would help clean it. I was thinkin i would turn the car on with the water in it also to get all the moving parts clean. Reply soon please i want to do this when i get off work today!
