Aftermarket fuel rails for sure.... somebody might have just thought they looked cool, or the car had a blower or nitrous on it... The coils are also aftermarket.

pretty slick and clean otherwise!

Sweet! This car reminds me of my buddies older brother's Mustang. It was the car that got me hooked years ago!

When test driving, leave it in gear and take your foot off the gas. Listen for humming/whining coming from the rear end. This is a nono.

Also, look at each section of body and compare it closely to the next piece. For example the hood to front quarter panel to the interior of the engine bay. It is an easy way to spot if it has been in an accident and has been covered up.

I know little to nothing about this but my Dad's been a life long mechanic and has spotted 2 stangs that actually had been crashed before, and the dealer claimed to have not even known.

Also spacers on the inside of the engine bay where the front quarter panels bolt on indicates a replaced panel and previous crash.

Hope this helps!

the carfax showed no accidents. I figured those coils and fuel rails were after market. I'm assuming the magnaflow mufflers are too. I'm familiar with gear whine. My old dakota had it pretty bad from a gear swap I had done. Crappy shop, I should have known better.

I really like the new mustang, I just need to get used to that manual.

now you need to swap out the tranny fluid with the corrected amount (check the bulletin about the T-3650 on cliffyk's website: http://www.paladinmicro.com) and drain/fill the diff fluid, but be sure to add a bottle of friction modifier from your local ford dealer when you do so. that should take care of some of the whining problems you have.

also, if it doesn't have a short throw shifter already, i recommend a MGW short throw, which will make your shifting a helluva lot easier. also, a new metal clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster (i personally recommend the UPR quick-click) should do well in helping you adjust. steeda and UPR seem to have pretty decent ones that are reasonably priced. just don't get an adjustable clutch cable, keep the stock one. all these things should help you get accustomed to the way our manual tranny's should have felt from the factory.

congrats on the purchase bro, she looks goooood!

No no, the Mustang doesn't have gear whine. my old Dakota had gear whine. All you can hear in the mustang is the lovely magnaflow mufflers that the PO was nice enough to install before I bought it. haha

What's wrong with the spoiler? It's stock isn't it? Not giant and overdone. Looks like the same one that's in your picture.

I'm getting used to the manual already. Someone suggested I get a feel for shifting gears with the engine off. (duh, seems so obvious now) Now I know where all the gears are. I was shifting from 2nd to 5th...oops. I was wondering why it bogged like crazy every time. I'm also shifting higher now. I was shifting at around 1800RPM since that's around where my old Dakota's auto would switch. I read on a manual 2500-3000RPM is recommended.

Anyway, she's getting a good wash and wax today. Can't wait to make her all pretty.

Ordered my first small mod today. Black shorty antenna, 13" long. I had the same kind on my old dakota. I hate the look of huge antennas sticking up way above the roof. Trying to research what I want my first performance mod to be. When I had my dakota, the options were pretty limited. The mustangs have quite a few options.

I think I'll skip the CAI until I can find a used one for dirt cheap. They never do much anyway. So many options gears, aluminum drive shaft, headers, throttle body, intake manifold, cams...then again, I need brakes and tires before I do any fun stuff.

Longtubes, offroad X, 4.10s. Sounds like the only option to me unless you are going turbo! Lol
