Default Purchasing New Mustang, PLEASE HELP !

Hey guys, so ive really been looking into a 96-04 mustang but have always liked the 05- present mustangs. My brother had a 06 gt 350 and i was wondering if the 96-04's would be as fast or faster ? Or what can i do for not much money to make it keep up? Thanks guys !

Well the 99-04 gt's are only a tic behind the 05-10 gt's. All things being equal gears, and tune will even things up. When i got my 04 gt it was stock, and both my dad and bro got 06 gt's a week later. They were bone stock as well. So everytime one of us would do a mod we would run each other to compare the difference. Back when i had just a cat back, and cold air intake, i was dead even with my bro in his stock 06.

Try to look for a 99-04 Mustang. They have about 40 more hp out of them than the NPI 96-98's do. And can get to 05-10 GT power levels with a few bolt ons and a gear swap.

the only thing i like more about the 05+ stangs (besides the fact that their leather interior is slightly better quality) is that they have more power potential. i have a buddy with an 05 who did gears, catback, and cai w/ the basic tuner that comes with it. he ran low 13s w/ street tires, 12.6 or 7 with drag radials. takes a bit more than that to get into 12s with a 99-04, but the price difference is pretty significant, so thats expected. and call me old school, but i don't trust electronic throttle bodies one bit. anything pre-05 will still have a mechanical throttle body, and that seems a helluva lot safer to me

I would go for a Mach 1. Those have good potential! or, if you can find a good deal on a 03-04 Cobra....

The 05-10 mustang look bland to me.
