They fit fine. It's got a tread width of 9.5". And that's narrower than most 275's.

Yes with spacers and grinding. Just like my post says (sorry I left out the grinding part). I didn't realize we where going to debate the topic or I would have been more specific

i had those exact same tires on a 96-98 gt rim on my 95. they were ok, but the small sidewall and not wide enough rim did hurt. they fit on the wheel just fine but you'll be able to see that they aren't wide enough.

regaurdless of that, i cut 1.6 60's with them dumping the clutch at 5k in the '95. I had to run about 12psi in them and do one nasty burnout to get them to hook tho.

one of the reasons slicks are safer is because the sidewall has more give in it isn't it? thats the way i always understood it. but when you're running a 26" tire on a 17" rim you're pretty much taking all the flexing sidewall out of it.

OK I give up I must have the ONLY 15 and 16 in mustang rims that will not work on an IRS. Ignore me because obviously I'm an idiot. I have personally had both 15 and 16 on my irs and they DID not fit.
