OK I give up I must have the ONLY 15 and 16 in mustang rims that will not work on an IRS. Ignore me because obviously I'm an idiot. I have personally had both 15 and 16 on my irs and they DID not fit.
one of the reasons slicks are safer is because the sidewall has more give in it isn't it? thats the way i always understood it. but when you're running a 26" tire on a 17" rim you're pretty much taking all the flexing sidewall out of it.
Theres information that supports this theory, but theres also alot of information that is against this theory.
