The new 5.0's are nice but I would rather have the word COBRA on the rear bumper, especially a Termi. Oh, the the respect that comes with them.

I have a thread in OT about this very thing.

I however was looking at a '12 5.0 or a Terminator. I chose neither.

I decided on a '13 GT500

^I like that idea.

But honestly if you want a car now OP and those are your choices. A 5.0 would be the better pick. But there are two very different price ranges.

New 5.0 hands down... there are many in florida with gears tires & tune running mid11's.

I have a 2002 gt( not a termi but same interior feel) and I currently DD a 11 GT 500... every aspect the new one wins... these card have a hard drive in them. Record your cd's to the hard drive. Have Usb ports for mp3 players. A/ c blows amazing ( big deal in Fla lol)

I would rather have a new 5.0 over a gt500 honestly. It is an amazing motor.. slap a blower and tires your running mid 10's beating gutted race cars in your DD...

I honestly think the 5.0 has the termi beat in EVERY aspect...ford finally did it right with their main production car...

Hmm...7-8 year old car that no longer has any sort of warranty on it and Ford is no longer going to produce any OEM parts for, or a brand new car that has a 3 year/36k bumper to bumper and 5 year/60k powertrain warranty and plenty of years of OEM replacement parts left.

I agree...tough choice.

/sarcasm

I love terminators(Dont EVER call a terminator a "termi" in front of a cobra owner or you will be made fun of and viewed as an outcast...trust me), but its hard to ignore a brand new, 412hp, 6 speed, pretty sexy looking car. All those cars to look mean as hell is a new set of wheels and lowering springs and you're set. Also, you can make mid-400's with bolt-on's only. and add a blower at low boost and you'll see over 600rwhp. And you can get that one from ford racing without voiding the warranty too.

Tough decision...lol

If you cant tell, 2011+ GT all the way.

Dont get me wrong, I love Cobra's in every aspect as I miss my 2001 I sold. But if i had a choice to own a Terminator or a new 2011 GT, I'd pick the 2011 easily. Warranty, brand new, 400+ hp out of the factory. I just dont have the money or the credit for a new one or I would have had one yesterday.

uhh... ford still makes OEM parts for new edge's... either that or they have a sh*t ton of old OEM parts hanging around. talk to your local dealer, they can price out tons of OEM parts for our years.

i've said it before, and call me old school, but theres somethin i just don't like about the large increase in electrical components in newer vehicles (not just the stang), esp electronic throttle bodies. also, s197+ stangs have a hydraulic clutch, which i think takes away from some of the muscle car appeal (plus i've heard of a few issues with the '11 clutches in particular).

to those who say the '11 is soo much faster, motor trend clocked it at 12.8 in 1/4mile, which, and i know this may be a shock, is the same exact 1/4 mile they clocked for a 2003 cobra!! don't believe me?? check it out; 03 cobra: http://wot.motortrend.com/ten-of-the...sted-3109.html ; and 2011 gt: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t_numbers.html .

my thought is to test drive both of them and see which one is a better feel for you.
