He makes a great point.

You can piece one together. Look at the pipes/boost/juice section. In there there is a thread on how to build a vortech setup for $1500. Realistically it costs around 2k for a fully intercooled setup but its very easy to do.

OP, it's not that every bolt on is a waste of money, but rather as a whole you won't get the same bang for the buck as you would with a blower or nitrous. Things like exhaust, gears, and tune are great mods regardless of weather you did a blower.

I looked at that thread closely. It still looks like you need injectors, fuel pump and a tune. Still definitely cheaper than a regular kit. I had looked at the price for intercoolers and just for the inter cooler itself is like 2K unless I am looking at something totally different.

You can get an intercooler for 200$. Plus, with the intercooler you don't need the discharge pipe so that is minus 150$. Fuel Injectors are 200$, Fuel pump is 100$. Tune is around 300-400$ depending on your area. In the thread it costs the guy around 1300-1400$ so add on another 350$ in parts and you are looking at 1650-1750$ then the cost of the tune.

This is the intercooler setup a lot of guys on here including myself run. The piping/couplers you get you can switch out so in this particular case you would want 3 straight pipes, 3 90* bend pipes 1 45* angle coupler, 1 90* angle coupler, and like 4 straight couplers.
