Question New Edge supercharger on a SN95; Possible?

I like the superchargers that the 99+ Cobras have, just seen one on craigslist for 550 bucks. I was wondering if there is any way to mount that supercharger onto my 1997 gt stock motor, (with rearranging parts, like alternator, of course)? Would I have to get PI Intake, Heads, etc.?

The supercharger head unit is the same. The bracket is different. Intake, oil drain, oil feed lines are the same as well, however the discharge pipe is different.

Edit: Sorry, thought you were talking about a 99-01 Vortech, Procharger, Paxton. Didn't realize you were talking about the Eaton.

just a FYI the 03-04 is the only cobra with the supercharger. money wise I don't think it would be worth it. you would be better off with a used vortech.

I wasn't aware of that, thanks...I thought all new edge cobras were superchargered. I just really like those superchargers mounted on top of the engine...looks way better than a snail IMO. Well, which would output more HP/TQ?

You can make the same power numbers from either of them without building your motor. It's just a matter of preference. It will however cost a lot less to do a used centri over a used PD blower though.

If you want an Eaton on top (which makes for a VERY fun street car BTW), look into TORKTECH.com. They sell kits that allow use of the Cobra blower, and also sell kits using upgraded TVS units for those seeking more power. You'll need to do the PI head swap, though - they are designed for 99-04 4.6L.

If you look hard enough, you can find the old SVO/Roush M112 set ups for the 96-98 4.6L cars. Not many people are familiar with them, but they will give you a nice kick in power for the money. I have one on my '98.

$550??? are you smoking crack? i bought my heads and intake for $350 used. there is no way in hell i would throw used heads in my car without having them redone. that was another $500. then you need a new gasket kit $120. so far $970, without including other supplies and parts.
