Exclamation cold air intakes. whats the best? do they work?

Hello everybody. Me and my family all own mustangs. I have a 1999 anniversarry mustang. And my dad has a 2007 mustang gt. We've been playing around with a few intake intakes. We have a spectre, k&n,and bbk cails. Do they really do anything over the factory intake? Which ones are the best. Which one is the most beneficial for my mustang?

That is such a broad set of question. First start with what you want to do to the car. Second give us the mods for the car in question..

Well I have a 99 v6 (read my sig for add ons) and im trying to get the most performance with it and im not going to be stripping down my motor because I can't afford the constant maintence of a custom motor. Just a daily driver that likes to get drove hard. My dads is a street/drag car loaded with every bolt on and a sct x3 tuner. He has a more racey car because every month he drags it. And wants to built a performance intake. Me? Not so much. I just want to get the most out of my intake and I do have a tuner (sct like my father). Any ideas?

CAI are not noticeable performance at all, they are just for looks as stated before, the stock one is fine.

The best CAI is the one that came with the car, it's free and a very good intake to boot.

For more performance first open up the exhaust, 2-1/2" from the manifolds back, then get a tuner and load a tune optimised for the the highest octane fuel you can get in your location. The stock tune has very conservative ignition timing and runs pig rich at WOT.

Those two mods will wake up any stock GT.

agreed cai's are only for looks. I have a pcv custom made cai on my car, but ONLY because i wanted something solid to mount my nitrous nozzle to, compared to the stock rubber one.

The guys in the V6 section will have more info for you but generally you'll get the same response. Pretty much worthless.
