Now that we mentioned dwindlling numbers and no one makes an aftermarket IRS replacement....I just might have to add that to my list of suspension parts I am going to start fabricating.....I could make some hella money on those .....but I still need to get one to look at and measure.....

If I was to actually swap the front on mine I would ove to find a Griggs setup to match my rear but its hard to find fox parts anymore from them....I am in dire need of their LCA's

Thanks for the reply Project...

You have any pics of your setup?

After talking with Jazzer in depth and asking more and amore people, I have nixed the whole IRS swap AND PB/TA setup for now. I have some LCA's on the way, and will soon be placing an order with AM for some FLSFC's.

Once those are on, I will test the waters and see how the car feels. Prob call it quits over the winter months as far as modding and save some $$ and do some research. Rethinking my goal and how much I would ACTUALLY visit the road course would not justify the $$ to do a PB/TA setup. I will start small and do some Auto-X's which are cheaper and easier to get to around my area.

I have come around to only modding things on my car that will FUNCTION. Sold off the heavy 18" saleens and put the stockers back on etc.

Excellent plan!

Do some mods that lead in the direction of your ULTIMATE goals and see how you like them. Would be a real bummer to go all-in on a specific direction, only to find out that you HATE your car when done

So long as you know open-track/AX vs. 1/4 mile, this is the fundamental place to start. If one is not into ANY of these things, don't do any suspension mods at all

Jazzers heart broke a lil bit on that last line

Of course I have pics ...you could click on the link in my sig and go searching through my build but I will be nice enough to post them for you...

Now, getting just a pan hard bar will help you over all..works well on the strip and on the course....BUT if you still have stock uppers it will eventually destroy the bushings on them if you use the bar for hard corners....

Do yourself a favor if you drive your car VERY HARD in the corners..... Put a weld across the boot that buts up against the shock mount on the passenger side of the PHB braket. I busted one a year or so ago:

Look closely at the upper pic and where the little braket is held by the LCA bolt. See the little bend in the middle? The back of this little plate was no longer tight up against the shock braket and strain was applied latterally to where the tube ties to the axle loop.

Put a 1.5" weld across the back of this bracket to the shock mount to avoid this issue.

Holy hell, good looking out! Yes, when I say hard, I throw the car to its limits (as safe as I can on the street at least)........I have actually thought about welding that bracket to the axle tube instead of having it bolted around it but then that would cause more of a hassle if I needed to remove it....I have already had to cut the upper mount off twice and that wasn't fun..(off the car I got it from and then mine when I didn't have it aligned right).....

Thanks for the pics Project, that PB looks like it will roally screw with the over-axle pipes in a nromal catback on the passenger side lol. And I'm not about to run dumps since this is my DD.

Nice goin Jazzer..stop breaking stuff!

It does cause some close quarters between the tails and the suspension but its not impossible.... the back half of my car is slightly tweaked so not everything lines up like it should so I had to do a little more tweaking. I am also running 275's so it also takes up a little more room. Not an issue with yours because your axle is wider than mine so you have a little more clearance..

I love my tail pipes so I had to have them back

It is NOT the part around the axle that needs welding, it is the back of the little "C" bracket up against the passenger shock bracket. Put a little weld along the back so that it doesn't get pulled away from it. It ends up bending that piece of metal held by the LCA bolt. Look at the farthest part to the RH side in my first picture. See how the flat metal part has a little "jog" bend in it. That is because on very hard LH turns, strain pulled it way from contact with the shock bracket on the axle. That movement allowed latteral stress back/forth onto the axle loop part and eventually fatiqued an broke.

Make sense?

Jazzer

I know what you meant. If I was to weld it to the axle I would hit both parts that clamp around the tube and the LCA mounting point. I tend to over do things just to make sure its ok
