No don't use dexcool.
Use the regular green anti freeze.
I get the Prestone 50-50 premix that is good for any climate.

2 Gallon will fill it if I remember

you'll need 2 gallons of straight coolant, i believe it takes around 3.5 gallons total when you flush it right, that's 2 gallons of coolant 2 gallons of water. Dont buy the 50/50 mix it's easier but a waste of money, I'd get the motorcraft green myself but i'm partial to motorcraft stuff. actually on my new motor I'm going to flush the radiator and heater core out good and get all the green shiz out and switch to motorcraft gold.

If it's orange/red, it's probably dexcool that's in there. It shoudln't be, from the factory it comes with green ethelyne glycol. But it doesn't really make a difference, as long as it's pretty much all the same that's in there. Dexcool won't harm anything if it's in there, as long as it's all dexcool.

If you're gonna flush it with ethelyne glycol, just make sure to get all the dexcool out. And same, vise versa.

Not to hijack this thread, but when should someone flush the coolant? I got a used 2005 GT with 39k and am wondering if it should be done. Thanks.

I know the "old style" Dexcool GM made had a jelling issue.
