KillJoy- no they go off when i pull the switch all the way out, even if the brights arent on.

i got it finally, had to pull a relay and jump two terminals.

It's not an elegant solution but works, I would advise trying to fix the wiring instead of jerry rigging the relays.

ive looked over all the wiring and all the wires are where they are supposed to be. i dont know where else to look.

sounds like you need to re pin the harness to where it plugs into the male 9007 socket.
