Default help with engine checklist

alright, gonna start assembling this long block soon, just wanna run thru all the parts i have/are ordering so you guys can see if I'm missing anything.

parts I have in possesion:
block
crank/rods/pistons
piston rings
main studs
complete heads minus valves(heads, valve springs, lifters, followers, cam caps)
timing chains
chain guides
crank sprocket
cam sprockets/bolts
oil pan
valve covers

parts ordering:
oil pump/pickup
main bearings
rod bearings
side bolts
valves
tensioners
cams
complete gasket kit
head bolts


not including intake parts or timing cover, anything i'm missing? i dont wanna have to order parts twice.

What oil pump and pickup are you ordering?

The ford racing one, which is basically the cobra pump.

No need to use the cobra oil pump tbh. GT pump works great but you might wanna go with a billet gears.

I dont think i'd be able to get a gt pump for any cheaper than the frpp pump, it's on sale thru summit right now.

dwt i'm ordering most of my parts thru summit, gasket kit, tensioners, valves, and head bolts will be from mhs.

Are you going with just a stock FRPP pump?

yeah. My build isn't gonna be too wild, if a stock gt pump was cheaper i'd go that route.

I assume the pump goes through pretty much the same abuse no matter how much hp you are running. I think the only real difference would be the RPM you take it to. I haven't fully decided which route I wanna go, and maybe i'm wrong about the oil pump.
