~5k seems like a good deal to me.

So went and checked it out. Ran good and was fast, just wasn't what I was hoping for as far as the condition was. Interior was subpar, motor was dirty, rattled a bit when you drove it. Gonna keep looking. If you guys know of anything in the Southern nevada/California area let me know!

Best of luck searching. Is that the top of your price range?Might be able to find a 96-98 cobra for 6k-8k.Is that body style the only one you want or do you like the new edge's as well.Keep looking til you find the car you like the most, don't settle for something that isn't.

It's pretty close to the top of my price range. And that's exactly what I don't want to do, settle for something. I was emailing a guy about a super clean 98 GT with similar mods to the 96 I was looking at and more but he wants 9k for it. Don't think I can get financed for that much. Can't wait until I am out of college haha.

Yeah 9k is way too much for a 98 gt.Just be patient and you'll find the right one.

I got him down to 8k. Really is a beautiful car, though. Here is the listing for it: http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/2786375989.html

What do you think would be a reasonable offer on that one? He said he's got $14k into it, realizes you don't ever get back what you put into a car but said it Blue Books for $6k so thinks $8k is fair. I really haven't found many Stangs worth even looking at in my area...

I wouldn't offer over 7000 for it and that's stretching it.Depends on how bad you want it.Offer 6500 and see what he says.Thats a lot of cash for a 98 2v.
