He hit the gas n got a lead so I gave up.. The second one was a Pontiac Fire-bird... I mean really that back to back **** just made me feel like my Stang is so slow.. =( and words of encouragement????

Install some 4.10's. Then go looking for them.

Agreed, the 2V needs shorter gears if it is going to have any luck. Still, he is maybe seeing what, 250RWP? Even the LT1 puts down 230-260RWP in stock form, not to mention the M6 runs 3.42 gears. The Fbody might weigh more, but it also has about 30ftlbs of extra torque. Something else, the LT1 is TURD from a dig, but once you get her big *** rolling, she will move.

I thought it was the other way around, LT1 being the torque motor and the LS1 having all the top end. Learn something new everyday.

That is what I have heard, but that hasn't been my experience. I have an old L98 IROC and that sucker is a stump puller even with the 2.77 gears and auto. The power band of my LT1 reminds me much more of my old Northstar cadillac, from 3K to 5.5kRPM is where the power is. It makes peak torque at around 4Kish and peak HP at 5.5K.

Yeah, you can check this video out and see what I am talking about. The LS1 has a much easier time taking the LT1 from a dig, but from a roll, they are much closer. Any PI mustang will toast either of these off the line, but from a roll, you can see the strengths of the LT1 and LS1.
