Exclamation 2002 Mustang GT transmissions

Hey, in my area, where I live, manuals are just impractical, so no matter how much i want one, I have to go automatic.. so if I have to go automatic, I want to know, what are all the automatic transmissions that are compatible with the 2002 Mustang GT's 4.6 L v8? Any and all suggestions would be awesome. My big question is if the 5R55S transmission from the Thunderbird would fit because since True manual is impractical, maybe I could use the SelectShift off the Thunderbird.
So in short, what are all the autos that are compatible (bolt pattern and internally wise) with the GT and what would YOU suggest?
Also if it does not come standard with a paddle shift of select shift system, what all would I need to accomplish that while still being able to switch from reg auto (press gas, switches gears when it feels like, boring yada yada,) to the SelectShift/PaddleShift auto (press gas, designate when to shift, much better than reg auto but still not as good as stick) for when I want to really get on the gas.
Thanks a ton to whoever answers this. I know I didn't do a wonderful job wording this and probably made it more complicated than it needed to be, but thank you anyway,
Cheers
Triston

You could probably get whatever transmissions in that you'd want. The easiest and most direct would be a 4r70w.

what type of valve body would you recommend if I want to be able to keep "standard" automatic in "D"rive but be able to shift through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and possibly 4th on my own? as well as what type of shifter (preferably TCI) would work best with it?
