Default Will a 04 GT bumper fit inside a mustang?

I could have sworn I have seen this asked before, but couldn't locate the thread.

Long story short: Got rear ended, and the driver took off. I found a rear bumper about 2 hours south in perfect shape and the same color. Problem is I only have access to my mustang, and I don't want to drive down there and not be able to get it home.

Does anybody know if it will somehow fit inside a mustang? I managed to jam a cobra decklid in there, but the bumper seems to take up much more space.

if you have a coupe it may fit if you fold the seats down or you could take out the passenger seat, that or go down with out a bumper and put it on the car once you get there

I was hoping taking the seat out and folding down the seats will fit.

I had the bumper off for a day to see if there was any damage beyond cosmetic.

Somehow this warranted a 'fix-it' ticket on the way to get groceries.....Been a long week.

Yes, it will fit. I put one in mine and left the front seat in. You'll have to twist is just a bit and slide it into the trunk with the rear folded down. Just a heads up, you'll have one big blind spot.

Closure:

It sort of fits. I had to slide passenger seat all the way forward, open the rears, and then slide the bumper in from the rear. The side that is in the trunk will need to bend/twist slightly to get the trunk to close.

Next time, I rent a truck

Had it out the window for about 5 mins. 30mph was causing too much movement, and I had a 2hr drive home ahead.

I had a truck lined up, but a job change popped up at the last minute, so no truck. Oh well, it is home! Not flawless like was described, but better than a damaged bumper. Been quoted 300 to re-paint, but wont guarantee a match, even if I let them use the old bumper to paint match to.

I did the same thing with a '01 Cobra Bumper, which is a little larger than a stock one. Just like LilRoush said, you have to twist it some. Also take your time. It took me 15 minutes to finally fit it in just right, and my wife was riding with me up front too.
