hi i just got a 1997 stang from my dad that is in pretty good condition. i wanted to upgrade the engine because it would be pimp! i was wondering if anyone could guide me in the right direction on what engine fit and things like.

First two things that you should do is a PI swap and exhaust work. These are the two most restrictive thing on that stang, and it would be good for about 50 HP maybe a little more if you was to go with an offroad X pipe.

I think coil-overs, gears, and a nice exhaust would help to make your car "pimp".

i didnt even mean to use pimped but i really want to get a faster engine. what im trying to do is maintain the car for the long haul. so i want to fix it up as much as possible. like i said noob here so i apologize for sounding dumb. my budget for it is open. im trying to figure out what to do then buy it.
