Gear whine while accelerating

Gear whine while accelerating
My Cobra has a SRA swap with 4.10s and when I accelerate I notice a bit of gear whine. I knew that I was low on diff fluid so I changed the pinion seal and filled it up. The whine is still there, so I was just wondering what the issue could be. I know it has to do with the backlash of the gears, which can be adjusted at the pinion nut so I wanna give it a shot. If it's a bit of whine while accelerating, but fine while coasting and decelerating, which way should I turn the pinion nut and how much would you recommend turning it at a time?
Thanks!
Thanks!

explain the steps you used when you changed out the pinion seal. if you did put the nut back on to the exact torque you probably made your rear end worse one of the easiest ways to take the nut off is to mark the nut and pinion and count the exact number of turns the nut did before it came off. You adjust the pinion depth with shims not by tightening the pinion nut.

The backlash is set up with shims. The nut only sets the preload on the bearing. If you cranked the nut too tight the only issue you run into is wiping out the pinion bearing. That in turn can cause noises and whatnot from the bad bearing causing wear issues
if that rear is making noise, it was set up wrong. period. no fixing it other than buying new gears and doing it right
