Default Oil in air filter?

I've done alot of research and read some threads about this but they were supercharged applications or older modified motors..

I have a k&n air filter for my bullitt that goes in the fender well I wanted to replace it and I took it off and it's covered in oil. I've read and heard that its ither the PVC valve or a piston ring is stuck. ...

So I pulled the PVC valve and it had oil on it...is that normal? And I heard that if it was a piston ring stuck that oil would be in my CAI and throttle body..I checked and they are clean as a whistle...so with that being said..does that mean that my PVC valve needs to be replaced??

Thanks guys!

It is common to have oil mist issues with higher performance engines. Most common daily drivers do not build up much crankcase pressure if any and they also produce much less intake vacuum than performance engines.
If you like running at higher than average RPMs, the issue grows.

There is also the issue of crankcase oil having a relatively low octane rating when aerated. This can produce pre-detonation which can be deadly to a higher performance engine.
Oil catch cans run from around $60 up to $150 depending on what you want.
The one I like is:

It is clear so you know when to empty it.
