Been havin problems with the stang lately... Mufflers are back firing when idling sometimes and when I rev up the engine they back fire.. Also when I accelerate there is hesitation.. One of my buddies says its probably "back compression"? Is that right? If not what is it?

I've been having issues somewhat related to yours with hesitation and just found out I have a burnt exhaust valve.

hmmm.. i think im having either a vacuum leak issue or an 02 sensor issue.. Gotta try n and c if i can find a leak, swap the front 02 sensors side to side and then if the problems continues i'll look in the exhaust valve.. appreciate the responce lol your the only one..

Sounds almost like timing is off somehow.

With all due respect to your friend, wtf is 'back compression' ? I agree with anothers diagnosis. It sounds like you have a miss in the timing somewherr and your getting fuel in the exhaust.
