Default Premium gas makes car sluggish?

Today I decided to put Premium fuel into my GT for the first time. As soon as I left the gas station I was going WOT and noticed that it seemed sluggish, not in a major way, but enough for me to go hmm. I drove it around a bit to get rid of the previous gas that was in, so after about 50 or 60 miles it was still sluggish.

Any ideas why this could possibly be?

Thanks,

Josh

Unless you are tuned for the higher octane gas, it is just a waste of money to use it.

Long winded so I will use bullets. Last couple days mine seemed sluggish as well. 95 temps outside. Shut my ac off it seemed better, but still sluggish. Dummy gages all reading normal. Poped the hood, definatly running smooth. Pulled out my K&N filter, seemed ok. Looked at TB with flashlight (didn't remove it), looks clean from what I could tell. Went to Exxon instead of my usual place. Drove to the auto parts store to buy TB cleaner and a kit to clean the K&N. By the time I got home it was running the way it should. I think it was the difference in where I was getting the gas. I am still trying to Figure it out myself. Why wasn't it noticeable before the warmer temps?

This is why I put it in, in the first place, just to see if it would increase performance, guess not.

I normally get my gas from costco or fred myers, hardly ever from anywhere else. I just think its odd that it would react sluggish to a higher Octane. Looks like i'll just stick to Regular.

Aa stated don't use anything higher then what the car is tuned for. Waste of money and it won't make the car run any better or faster.

A stated...dont use it inless you are tuned for it. Also its a good thing to switch brands of gas every once in a while, because they use different additives and detergents per brand, helps to prevent build up. Also..avoid stations that the tanker has recently been to, IE; If you pull up to the station and the truck is there, move on to another. When the pump the fuel in it stirs up sediment in the tanks. Wait to fill up at that station until the afternoon.

I know not to bother with getting premium gas if it's not needed, just figured i'd see if it had a tune (because theres a lot done already so i'd bet there would be one of some kind).

Steve, I don't ever fill up if i've seen/see a tanker filling up the pumps. I don't really ever change gas stations (their cheapest, besides ARCO, and who uses them?) but I put the usual cleaning products in my car to break down build up.
