I'm going to disagree with Dan on this. Nitto's arent bad, but they still leave room for improvement. If you're going to be spraying with nitrous cams, I'm going to suggest Hoosier DR's...don't mess around when you're shocking the tire with spray. You can get them in 275/40-17 or 315/35-17. If you're running 9" wheels, I would not run over a 275 width tire. 10.5 wheel you can run up to 315 without issues.

op, why not just buy a dedicated set of drag wheels with slicks? change them at the track and dont play around. then buy a street tire for cruisin like a nt555, nt05, nice toyo or goodyear tire

My insurance will only allow me to put 4500 miles a year on it now that I have it under "modern classic insurance" so 90% of the driving will be to the track, or to a show. or at the track. So with this, I'm not worried about running DR's on the street. I liked the sizing of the 295/45 personally because I think it will fill my rear wheel well MUCH better, even though I'm on H&R SS's, and just look bada** the 275 just looks a little small in the sidewall department. Anyone ever use this? Its a 27.5" tire I believe, vs. a 25" tire with the 275/40. Will this tire be too big? Cost is also a big factor. Which tire will be best overall for performance, even if I go 275/40 with either brand? I just don't have much experience with DR's. The car WILL be sprayed at the track, and dont forget my car is an AUTO.

My wheels are 17x9 99-01 factory cobra wheels.

With ss springs and a 28 inch tires ur definatl gonna need ur fenders rolled depending on the width, you would also at a benefit if u run adjustable ucas to get proper pinion angle.

you guys think a 28" tire will be TOO much tire for the power goals that I will be obtaining?

No such thing as too much tire when it comes to the straight line track!
