Wgen taking my stock shifter out to instal my new hurst short throw, I couldn't get my stock shifter broke free from the factory sealant. I had all bolts out but it wouldn't break free for anything. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

The stock shifter is going to be very tightly sealed on the trans. You're just going to have to pry up on the shifter with a flathead screwdriver, or an actual prybar if you have one.

I thought about trying a rubber mallet and just tapping around the base of it to see if that will break it free, I tried the flat head screw driver and there's no way of getting a good angle on it for it to actually work.

Go underneath the car if you have a way of safely supporting the car. Hit upward, if I'm not mistaken the stocker folds over the edge of the shifter receptacle area.......(not the technical name, I know.)

They are a bit** to get off. Just grab the shifter handle and forcibly move it side to side. It will brake loose, but it takes some force. I almost fell over when mine broke loose.

I did that for like an hour straight lol. I felt like I was going to break something, but I'm going to try again in the morning and hopefully this damn thing comes off
