strange engineering struts - why doesn't the strut expand on its own?
Recently sold a pair of strange engineering struts and both myself and the seller noticed that when we compressed the strut piston into the body, it didn't pop back out on its own - we had to pull it out. It required a lot of force to compress as a working strut should, and there was no leaking. Is it because it is oil filled (I think?).
if the shock wasnt designed with a gas pressurized reservior, then you will have to pull/push the cylinder by hand when its removed from the car
Changing the setting should make a noticable difference when you compress them, it does on mine anyway and all 4 are brand new. Unless its all in my head, my arms are usually always numb or sore lol.

lol! i completely agree, the settings will let fluid move easier or harder depending on which way the **** is turned
