Default Dyno Retune = more power!!

Took the car back to my tuner so he could actually tune it for the powerpipe and also adjust for the fuel we currently have here. We used to run a seasonal blend, but have now gone to fuel with 10% ethanol so he wanted to set it up right. First run was 398.23 rwhp/393.26 rwtq. After some adjusting he got it to 400.8 rwhp/390.1 rwtq, but we were running out of fuel. So the next order of business is either a BAP or bigger fuel pump. I am still running the 3.33 pulley. Car runs so good now.

Do you have the stock pump? I didn't see anything listed in your siggy. If so, I wouldn't put a BAP on it. I'd look into a GT pump.

I am running a GT supercar pump and it is maxed out. He is going to order up a bigger pump instead of just adding the BAP.

Something doesn't sound right. How in the hell is the GT pump maxed out at 400hp? Have you upgraded the lines? How do you know it's not running out if fuel due to injector (what's its duty cycle?), maybe the fuel rails are running dry?? I could be wrong but I'd look elsewhere for the issue, unless you got a bad pump. That's just my .02 though.

What's the a/f look like when it's running out of fuel? Does your tuner know it has a GT pump, if so, who is your tuner and why does he think it's maxed out when the GT puts out more than that stock, with room to grow with the pump??? I know I can't be the other one thinking that your tuner is wrong...

That's not the first time I've heard of a gt pump or a focus pump maxing out at below or right at 400rw, most likely just a bad pump. What duty cycle was it at?

Yes the Gt pumps are 255lph. As far as the other questions I don't have an answer for. The first thing out of his mouth after the first run was that I was running out of fuel at about 5700rpm's. He said it was the pump and then asked what size injectors I had. He said he would rather put in a bigger pump over at BAP due to how the BAP kicks in. He started explaining it to me, but it sounded like Kligon so I have no idea what it meant. I trust this guy 100% and he has tuned ton's of cars with no issues so I am inclined to believe him. I will follow up and check it out though.

I guess I should assume, which I did, that you're running dusk pumps? Are you running dual or single? If dual, did you upgrade the FPDM?Have you checked for and kinks in the fuel line?

If you have a single pump, my next question, where you maxed out, or close to it last time... 2hp ago? If so, why wasn't this addressed then?
