Default New toy!

Just got home from making a deal on a 2004 black Mach 1 with only 47,000 miles. It's staying at the dealership for a few days to get some work done, but it should be done by wednesday. Can't wait!

I wouldn't say I was dissatisfied with my gt, but as soon as I blipped the throttle in 2nd gear on the Mach, I knew I had to have it. It's a whole other animal than a stock GT.

Anyway, here's some pictures.

Those wheels are going to go, the tires were about bald, and they are 18's, so tires would be expensive...and kind of ugly in my opinion. They are letting me swap my bullitt wheels onto the Mach.

On the front, you can see the only real flaw with the car. Looks like they hit the bumper a bit, also, the decal under the hood scoop is peeling off a bit. I'm having them remove it entirely.

It has a decent list of preinstalled mods from what I could tell.
-Lowered not sure by how much, but I like the stance
-MM caster camber plates
-Some sort of short throw shifter. I didn't want to take the whole assembly off to tell what kind
-Cold air intake kit, still uses the hood scoop, don't remember the brand. Not one I've heard of. It had a carbon fiber look to it

Congrats! I love the mach 1's, they're one unique mustang that's for sure. Enjoy it and welcome to MF!

Nice, middle man between the gt and cobra, I like 'em. any mods planned? good call on switching wheels, those are not very nice in the least bit.

Thanks for the welcome 01gt, but I've been here for over a year. haha.

Well, most of the smaller cheaper mods have already been done to it. Someday I'll get some big mods for it though.

Long term goals
-positive displacement blower.
-cobra style front bumper perhaps
-coilover suspension
-heads, cams, etc.
-panhard bar/torque are setup
-Tubular K-member and arms
-built up internals

short term goals
-sequential tail lights (actually I should check to make sure I don't have them already, I noticed in the test drive that the turn signal clicker was going slower than on my GT, I know people often switch out to a slower flasher when they install sequential tails)
-x-pipe
-Paint valve covers. probably black
-SCT tuner
-stainless steel brake lines
-Hawk pads
-MM Subframe connectors (forgot to check if these were already installed)
-Remove slack from accelerator pedal cable (first thing I'll do, I hate the stock pedal position)

Any other suggestions for sub $500 mods cosmetic or performance? I think I named most of them.

after some googling, I founf out my CAI is an MRT cai, looks like it's no longer listed on their website though. Looks like a solid unit anyway. Here's a picture of the same intake from another mach.

Very nice! I cant believe you would rather have the most over used rims (builitt rims)on that car. It is so hard to be unique with the Mustang and as that car sets now it is unique. Anyway nice car and the fastest color

It was a tough choice. The current wheels could be made to look nice I think. Painting them black on the inside of the spokes would make them look a lot more like real mach wheels. This was my plan going in.

The tires were shot though, and I can't afford A new set of tires AND a mach right now. The wheels were also a bit curbed. My bullitt wheels are in perfect shape with basically new rubber. Plus it's a mach, isn't it unique enough? Haha. Only 1000 other black ones like it.

Congrats!!!!!! looks mean. Would like to test drive a Mach 1 or Cobra to see what I've been missing. Drove an 11' 5.0 (trade in) last week auto w/ 3.15 gears. It was slow off the line , but still pulled very hard through the RPM range.
