Default cowl hood performance

Does a cowl hood actually help the car run cooler or at least cool the engine compartment?

With the right hood, it will look great. Functionality-wise....WDAFT

I like my cowl. You can actually SEE the heat waves escaping through the open cowl when your at a red light...

My Tru Fiber hoods works well to extract heat. My body guy opened the rear extractors wider so it would pull more heat. As stated before it looks cool and does work. You can see the heat waves coming out.
