Default Catch Cans

Who is running one? How do you like it?

I'm thinking of picking up the UPR one but unsure of the design. Does the bottom half unscrew?

Anyone have some pics of it installed?

I have a gift card to UPR, hence why I'm thinking to pick one up. I can't imagine spending $120+ on a catch can...it's a simple part in terms of how it works...Hell plenty of people run modified Husky air compressor air line filters at $30 in parts/materials LOL.

I'm running a home made one. I see no point in spending the amount UPR and Steeda charge for such a simple thing.
I know you said you have a gift card but there are so many other nice things at UPR you could get. just my .02

Im running a cheap one but im using it as a catch can/valve cover breather. I really haven't got to drive the car since I missed the dyno session back over break and wont get a chance til summer but the does serve its purpose

Well that's true, but I don't own a Mustang any more so $25 to UPR gets pretty limited. They make a catch can for the GTO's though. I was contemplating a air compressor air filter with the stone filter removed and stuffed with coarse brillo pad.

That would be great to get some pics. Fully assembled and dis-assembled and what the inside looks like for baffling.

I'll be mounting this tucked away as far as possible and not right next to the TB/head to give the vapor more time to cool and condense.
Thanks a lot.

I just replied to your PM. The UPR can separates in the middle, and the new cans come with a drain in the bottom so they don't have to be unscrewed to empty them.

Awesome, any chance I could get some pics of the inside? I would hate to have the can empty with no baffling to condense the vapors.

Its not about temperature. What happens is the oil droplets are traveling fast in a stream. A catch can or oil separator works by slowing down the droplets forcing them to hit each other and form larger & larger droplets.

So what exactly does one of these do been seeing a few things about them. Is it something that's going to really benefit me in the long run?
