Thanks for the pics Lgs SGT.

So after doing more research, I have a dilema.

Since you can never know how much oil would typically pass into the intake via blow by vapors, you can never know if your catch can design is best. Only way to really tell is to take note of the intake and how much oil is in it pre catch can. Then install the catch can and take note how much is in the intake again.

Not very scientific or quantitative for my liking. People are ALWAYS happy with seeing oil in their catch can (I was one of them), but they may be only catching 5% of oil going into the intake.

I looked into Elite Engineering catch cans and Rx Performance catch cans and even the UPR cans and there doesn't seem to be rocket science in their design. Air blown into a cavity filled with steel wool type medium, then exits the can. Same thing I already made, but given it's relatively small body, I'm sure I'm not getting all the oil.

Anyone happen to know the average flow rate of gasses being passed from the crank case into the TB? If so, do you know the typical volume of oil within that same flow rate?

After playing around a little last night I found that the inlet fitting has oil "pooled" up in it. The outlet fitting is "dry".

This is telling me the can is doing it's job...how well is to be determined.

I will plan to add some clear hoses that will show the oil tract well and serve as a visual judgement of the can efficiency. Possibly add a second $12 filter inline just because LOL

This is nothing new, but I feel a lot of people buy some fancy bilitt can at $100+ and assume it's had a lot of R&D work done on it to prove it works...

I guess I missed this thread when researching, but this is what I was looking for out of this thread:
