Angry 2000 GT sputters when accelerating

for starters i have a 2000 GT with a 4.6 and it has 144,000 on it. the only thing that has been changed is there is SLP load mouth exhaust and a chrome intake put on.

So last summer i was having a problem when i was giving it gas or putting it under a load, it would sputter ( can tell starting in 3rd gear). So i went through and changed all the plugs and ignition coils. Car ran good for about a month or so. Then the same problem started coming back and it threw a CEL. I got it scanned and it said there was a misfire on a cylinder 1. so i changed one of the injectors figuring that would be the problem...didn't help. so i went to the fuel filter and changed that thinking it was probably just plugged...ran a little bit better but it still has that sputter. I am looking for a couple more things that I can do for myself before i bring it in to get looked at.

Try clearing the codes and swapping the number 1 coil with another good cylinder to see if that coil is bad.

How's the wiring look on the coil/injector on the problem cylinder? Maybe it's screwed up and when you move it you fix it, then vibration ruins it again and makes it short.

98.9% of the time a misfire on a modular motor is a coil problem. Why you decided to chase the fuel side down and blow useless money is beyond me.. Replace the coil and plug on the cylinder that is throwing the code... problem solved

did you replace the coil with OEM ones? if no, see my last post

Also, if its a problem you cant solve quickly and cheaply, then maybe take it to a shop and get it fixed right instead of tossing parts and wasting $

only other thing I've seen with these cars is the fuel pump dropping pressure.. But the car will not rev past a certain rpm under load when this is the case. If just one cylinder is missing, then its not a supply problem
