Default Subs or Bama Tuner?

I got a buddy who is selling 2 12" kicker subs and a Stax 1800 watt amp for $300 for everything. According to a couple of my friends, the subs and amp combo is worth a out $700 new. i have enough money to buy this or a tuner. I do listen to music quite a bit in my car and since I only have the mach 460 I would like a little bit better music experience. I also would like to have the extra power that the bama tuner gives. The bama is $389 on AM.com and the subs and amp are $300. Which one would you guys spend your money on?

Sorry to hijack your thread but, how does a tuner work?

Are you able to change the tune on your car as many times as you want or only a few times? Are you able to tune someone else's car with your tuner?

The Mach 460 has good bass as it is. 1800 Watts is overkill since that amp can't drive your other factory 4 ohm speakers. If you had asked this question in the a/v section you may have gotten a couple votes for the amp and sub, but here...not so much. Those of us without a tuner really really want one. Even old farts like me who aren't into racing.
I've been following your progress and you are doing a great job on your ' stang, looks awesome.
Oh - I vote TUNER!

Free tunes for life if you buy from American Muscle. If you buy used you can Buy In to the tunes support from Bama. I think it cost around 150 bucks to buy in. So just get it from AM unless someone just gives you one.

This post like all others is based on my opinion and stuff I think I know. Any ressemblance to reality is purely coincidental.

I put a decently priced pioneer head unit in my car, and I also have the Mach 460 system. With a little fine tuning according to the music I'm listening to, it sounds really nice compared to the stock unit tuning options. That could be a compromise if you don't already have an aftermarket player.

If you're trying to keep your car fast and enjoy the power and handling of your stang, get the tuner. All that audio equipment with weigh you down, possible electrical problems, and take up all usable trunk space. I had a 10 inch kicker in a box for my old 2003 v 6 mustang. It weighed 50lbs alone and basically took up my whole trunk. It sounded good, but I eventually bought a tuner. I went thru the loud music stage, but in the end regret spending money on all that crap when I could have put it toward performance in my car.
