Default lincoln mk 8

So while explaining to some guy wanting to buy a cobra that old cobras had teksid blocks, I realized that lincoln mk VIIIs had them too. I also once read on some forum that people will look to buy these blocks for their big hp projects. It turns out there's a mk 8 for sale in my area for cheap. Is this something I can capitalize on?

here's the add

Theres a few guys here that have swapped a mark viii engine into there gt's for a little hp boost. I used a mark viii short block for my 2v. The aluminum teksid blocks are stronger and lighter than the iron blocks.

I just want to stress that the difference is that the BLOCK is stronger, not the internals. The internals of the Mark 8 arent as stout as the cobra version, I know they at least have a cast crank and not forged. If you can pick it up for cheap and build it up, its great. But if your goals arent over 5-600 hp I prob wouldnt even bother with a teksid/mark 8 block.

rwdfan, youre right. I should specified that. They have cast cranks but the same cast rods/pistons until you get to the 03/04 cobras. Then everything internally is forged.

Correct. Going from the iron block to the aluminum block shaves like 76lbs
