I have had my 00 gt and She never had working fuel gage.
I got what I need off a older gt at salveg yard and I waz a bull
To lift the bucket out of the tank with ez.
Mine is a totally DIFFRENT problem. The bucket don't sit drectly under the opening. I can get it to release but not out.

Has anyone had this prob and how to fix.

I had the same thing in my old 2000, i've done multiple mustang pumps and never had a problem but my old car sounds to be the same, the basket wasn't under the opening and thus the bucket wouldn't come out. Luckily all I was doing was a fuel pump so I was able to just unscrew the lid and change the pump with the basket still in the car. I dunno how you can get the bucket itself out without breaking the lower bracket.

I can't comprehend much of this mushmouth post. But did you actually unseat the other end from the bottom of the tank? It twists in and locks down. Then you turn it sideways and work it out of the opening

If it's the same thing as my old car, everything is offset and not right under the opening. Like the bracket itself that's attached to the bottom of the tank isn't in the correct spot, and you cant pull the bucket out because the bracket wont let you move the bucket enough to get it out the hole.

Yea I know thar replace abull. And yep that exactly my prob. All I want is to know how much fuel I have. Thinking I may go back fo the hole tank.
I probably can slip the senser in and fix it to the bucket. Snot that big ov deal
