Default 2004 Pricing

I have been on the hunt for a Mustang for a while now. Today a 2004 GT Convertible 5 SPD popped up for $9995. One owner, clean car fax, 74,000 miles.

I am going this afternoon to look at it. Anything in particular about this year I should look for? I have been lurking on this site for years but never registered.

Looks good. Main thing is listen and feel for every little thing you can when ya drive to try and catch any problem.

Ask the price as if ya didnt know... then dont really say anything... silence gets lower prices. Had a ford dealer trying to sell me a 2012 gt with the brembo pack heated seats and a bunch other in great shape 90k miles one owner who was a dr.
They were asking $23k, original sticker from when it was new was right under $40k. By the time i left they offered it to me for just over $16k with no trade in.

Dealerships price thousands above what they paid for anything. And after 30 days of sitting on the lot, their insurance rate on the car doubles, at least where i am it does. Guess it depends on who insures them. But point is they probably gave 5-6k for it. If you bought it for 7k theyd probably be happy. But what do i know? I only made a profit on 4 out of the 5 vehicles ive ever owned. Lol

It won't let me edit my post. The sales guy wouldn't drop the price at all. But after talking to the finance manager we got it right at 9k with the power train plus warranty. I'd say it wasn't a great deal but it wasn't terrible either. Plan to pay it off before next Christmas.

Completely stock except for exhaust and radio. Not sure what it has yet, but will be under it tomorrow. Even has the original intake.

Well at least having a stock one is pretty rare. Congrats even if he wouldnt come down. What truly matters is that you are happy with it!

That's a pretty good price. It's amazing how the stealerships go from not working with you on the price to dropping the price by 2400 bucks. Did you buy it yet?
