It may or may not need alignment depends how low you go but always a good idea to have it checked. It's helps visually and handling is much improved. I dropped my s197 1.5"front/2" rear and it's a big difference in handling when paired with my GT500 lower control at.s up front. And adjustable panhard and control arms out back. It allows you to make more precise handling adjustments.

 

just doing springs is not the way to do this, caster camber plates, and a bump steer kit will get things to aline properly, or you can just keep buying tires?

 

Camster, I am in the same boat as you. I have a bone stock 2003 GT Convertible with 65000 miles on it and have no plans to change anything. I guess it comes with age(56 here). From what I have read, the car is supposed to handle better in curves at a higher speed but the ride is sooo much stiffer that every bump is magnified. And yes, an alignment and possible camber and caster plates may be needed to ensure a correct alignment.
