I thought the GT was rated 0-60 around low 5's. So how is 20-60 low 5's good?
Also, 0-60 times are performed in 1st and 2nd gears, while the 20-60 times in this thread are being done in 2nd gear only.

rolling at 20mph (neutral pedal pressure..your not accelerating or decelerating) in 2nd gear..
have timer ready and push start on your timer as you go full throttle at 20mph
have finger on stop of timer and push stop as you hit 60 mph.
I really wish this were a standard time people put on their sigs. This takes the driver and traction variable out of the equation (for most people). Its free, reasonably accurate and easy on your car. If you could log the graph of speed vs time you should be able to calculate a (wind loaded) horse power curve. I just put my car back to stock to prepare for my 1st oil change / checkup at the dealer so I will do this too. A lot of people here have posted concerns that they are not generating as much power as they are supposed to (me included).

I think you should be requred to do each run in opposing directions to null out any "down hill" or "tail wind assisted" times.

BTW, love the recent cooler weather here in the NE with temps in the 60's and 70's. My Stang has a lot more punch.

I agree.. This should be part of the sig. Eliminates the driver out of the time postings.

Ran mine tonight. Factory stock 2006 GT 5 speed with 7100 miles on it. 64'F, 5.1 seconds. Changed out to Granatelli CAI/MAF dropped to 4.8 seconds. This is an average of 2 runs in opposite directions.

Im going to have to try this. Sounds pretty good of a measure for gauging performance.

well run #1 was a 4.63 #2 - 4.78 #3 - 4.80 #4 - 4.72 #5 - 5.08 #6 - 4.78

I think #1 was the fastest because she was still cold and it seems to be consistent with the 4.7 range.

personal test: 0-40 in 1st was 3.20 and 40-60 in 2nd was 2.30. So from a roll 0-60 about 5.5 seconds. Thats pressing start when I lift the clutch and hit the gas. By doing the 2 difernt runs like that i can get 0-60 without the shifting. If i were to launch it would be much better.
