Cai and tune, really worth it?

RE: Cai and tune, really worth it?
Had my 07 GT 2 weeks. Got like 1.600 on it . I would love this set up on my car, but what about my warranty? If I have to take it in for something, and they see the cold air induction, will that void my warranty. I read in one of the previous posts, that the owner removed the set up before taking it to the dealer.
That would suck! Any one know about this?

RE: Cai and tune, really worth it?
Just had my oil changed and all my fluids checked 2 days ago, they said absolutely nothing about my intake or exhaust or chin spoiler for that matter. I think it all really depends on your dealer. Mine is a Saleen dealer that does alot of aftermarket FRPP modifications and Saleen mods themselves.. so that might have helped. One thing they did give me stuff about was the window tint. They said since the tint is aftermarket and not put on by the dealership that Ford might not warranty the scratches on the windows. Just a minor thing though.. Ill take off the tint, have them fix the windows under warranty and then retint them.

livelink?
nevermind, I think I see what I did.......
I was wanting to play with the livelink feature, it looks to me that the software only suports serial and the device uses usb. I'm thinking xcalibrator 2 doesn't support livelink yet?

loaded the race tune!
I loaded the race tune today, in a word.....WOW. as soon as I started the car and blipped the throttle, I knew I was going to be happy. The throttle response seem to be even better than the 87 tune which I thought was very good. And much better than the torq tune. The car felt like what I would expect if installing 4:10 gears. (although i've never rode in a car that had them)
If some one told me they would give $2000 dollars to take this package off and leave it stock I would have to say NO! I may just put the old tune and air box back on in a few weeks just for giggles though.
To anyone else on the fence like I was 2 weeks ago........ JUST DO IT! you won't be sorry

RE: Cai and tune, really worth it?
Most have tried all the OCT tunes at some point. The reason that you see most (IMO) running the 93 is based on the ultimate performance factor.
When I got my C&L I ran all the tunes in turn to get use to them and what they could do. I ran 87 for the first two weeks or so until I ran out the gas and then worked my way up the ladder. You still see great improvements over stock with 87 and I still say its night and day. After comparing all 3 tunes I stick to 93 OCT 99% of time unless going on a long road trip where I switch to 87 to save a little on the tank cost while on the trip. 87 tune is great but 93 is the greatest.
