Default Lets Go Turbo

So I looked around and I know nothing about Turbos. No idea which type, brand or where to get one.
Of coarse now I have a few questions...but first this is what I want the car to do...
Its not a daily driver, I want to be able to drive it downtown smoke afew guys at redlights, maybe drive to the city (250km away) to do the same, take to the track and run 11s
keep in mind that then the turbo goes on I will have completely done the internals/head/injectors/transmission and I am looking for around 600rwhp

So what should I go with:

a) Twin turbo set up vs. One big Turbo
b) Ajustable on the fly

Off the line, you'll be annihilated by the first guy running a Kenne Bell or Whipple.

Twin turbos just add to the cost and complexity, there is no need for twins. My car makes full boost by 2900. Adjustable Manual and Electronic boost controllers have there place but on a stock block they make it too easy to turn the boost up to a point at which your motor may blow. Stick with just a wastegate spring that keeps you between 8 and 11 psi and you will be fine. The numbers in my sig were with a heat soaked car on a hot and humid day that was otherwise stock down to the mufflers at 9 psi.

I am very happy with my PowerHouse turbo.

You make it evident you've never ridden in or even seen an S197 with a turbo.

so then if iam sitting at 400hp before the turbo i should easy hit the 600hp mark then.

It dont matter off the line, its the finish line that counts...

Not true, if he runs an auto trans he can make FULL boost off the line. Where as the KB or whipple have to spin up higher to make the same.
Even in a manual trans car, if you run enough boost theres nothing you wont be able to catch.

Umm.... what motor you plannin on runnin 302, 351, 4.6????? Stock 302 blocks cant handle much more than 550 from what Ive heard, so you might be runnin into problems at that point. Your best bet is to run a 351W block, easy to make power, and the block is strong as hell and its basically all the same parts as a 302 with the exception of the intake, oilpan, and headers. All of which are available at jegs or summit.

That would depend on what you are doing to get to 400hp but the 67mm turbo on my car can support 800+hp.

You do realize this is in the '05+ 4.6 specific section correct??? So one would make the assumption that he has a S197 with a 3v 4.6..........

No, the internals need to be changed if you want that kind of power. Out of curiosity can you spell out your exact plans for this car? It would help tremendously, right now it seems like you are just another person dreaming about FI and will never do it.
