Default Smoke out of the exhaust??

Hey guys. When I start my car in the morning, some normal-looking smoke comes out at a steady stream and ends after 5 seconds. Is this normal? Thanks.

Depends - hard to say without seeing/smelling it:

1. as it starts to get colder outside, you will see water vapor when first starting it up
2. if you let it site for a while oil vapor (from the PCV) accumulates/condenses in the intake and that will burn off on start up...

So:
1. white or blue?
If blue - you can try putting some oil-seperators on:

2. odor?

Thanks. And to answer your question about the color. It's blue and doesn't have an odor. I use Mobil One synthetic oil with a K&N air filter, K&N cold air intake, and a Borla axle-back exhaust. Does this stuff anything to do with it??

My Dad disagrees with fishyducky because the smoke is blue.

Nah - sounds like PCV is leaving oil vapor in your intake which then condenses...

For the most part it is relatively harmless - as are the filters I mentioned. They should stop most if not all of it...

There is no reason that oil NEEDs to flow back into your intake, it is done for emissions purposes - crank case needs to vent - they (EPA/CA) would rather it not vent into open air.

P.S. it is "normal" for these cars to do this, but ifit bugs you and/or you don't wan't your plugs to see a drop of oil they don't need, then get the filters...
