Aftermarket Driveshaft ?
I know some of you have replaces your orig. drive shaft with an aftermarket solid shaft. Can you tell the difference in the seat of your pants or dyno numbers. Jegs has a aluminum 3.5" shaft made by lakewood for $519.00 looks like the best price i have found. please give me your input on this add-on is it worth it or if not lot's of other upgrades to purchase.

One place.... www.Powerhouse411.com I just replaced mine, today I was just drivng on the highway I looked down at the speedo....OMG doing 110......I could not even feel it!!!! smooth as butter!!
The install is a direct bolt on period!!! 15 minutes tops if you got air tools.

I have on order a 3.5" 900hp capable alumin DS for my stang. The diffrence will be amazing.
You get rid of a huge amount of weight as well as drop parasitic loss from removing the 2 piece joint..
Also looking on jegs site they list that for a TKO tranny setup, might want to make sure that its for the stock tranny and not a TKO 500/600 swap

I'm looking into a new ds as well...did some searching on the forum and with some vendors. Some vendors claim a 4" ds will have clearance issues with suspension lowering or back seat passengers, butitdoesn't seem that there are any members here who have had a problem. Regardless, I think I'm going with a 3.5" ds. I'm not planning on going over the HP limits of the 3.5".

I know of many that have had issues with the 4" shafts.. The 4" also can not be used with a saleen shifter.
Also you should know that an adj UCA or LCA's will be needed to set the proper pinion angle when going with a 1 piece.

RE: Aftermarket Driveshaft ?
i read you have an auto. there aren't many of the one-piece driveshafts that work with the autos. they tend to vibrate really bad.
i do know of one person that sells one for $499 that is proven to work in all the GTs autos and manuals.[sm=smiley2.gif] it is a 4" shaft but i have the same one in my auto along with about a dozen others on here and other forumslike modular fords with zero clearance issues.
+1 i highly recommend the use of adjustable UCA or LCA's to stop the axle rotation and give you the ability to set the pinion angle if need be. if you are lowered it's pretty much a must have.

I have the Powerhouse411 aluminum 4" one-piece driveshaft in my supercharged 06 vert. It was a 1 hour install and you can definately feel the difference in how the car revs. I have never had any vibration issues and tested it to 160MPH. My car in NOT lowered and I have the stock driveshaft to pinion angle.

RE: Aftermarket Driveshaft ?
Where can i find dyno numbers for the difference with and without the DS? The search feature is not friendly.
I've heard 5-7rear wheel. Does not seem to be a cost effective mod if those are the numbers.

jlpskydive is supposed to be going to do the after install dyno so we can know what the dyno says it gains. my estimates are between 20-30rwhp all across the rpm range. it really does make a hell of a difference. especially if you are n/a.
i did a same day track test before and after. the result was.21 second gain and i didn't even ice it down for that run. if i would have iced the intake and let it cool down more it would have picked up another tenth or so. all the previous runs were done with long cool down times and ice on the intake. when i got done the install the track was almost closed so i only had time for that one run.
