Im 17 years old, and am not a very good mechanic. I just got a new 07 GT and was wondering what modifications i should make to add some hp? any suggestions from anyone would be great thanks

 

Typical bolt ons, cold air intake, headers, exhaust, underdrive pullies, and a good tune should up the HP #'s pretty well. Other than that supercharge it.

Intake and programmer will make a noticable difference, and is a very easy, do-it-yourself.

 

The best adivce I can give you is this....

use the SEARCH function...it will set your world free...then read and read and read some more...when you get done reading...do even more reading...and if you don't understand something or need more clarification then you can as well formed and thoughtful questions. this will lead to greater knowledge...

asking "How do I add HP?" is like asking how to you get from point A to point B...there are lots of right answers and it would take forever to go over them all....

However if you came up with this question: "I see that product A has such and such feature that product B doesn't, is this a big deal?", or "I found product A, and I haven't found any other info on it, could someone tell me their experience?" Those would indicate that you are looking for real help and not just fishing....

If you read through the first 3 or 4 pages of posts in the 2005+ forum and subforums, you will learn 75%+ of the basic beginner knowledge that will get you started in learning about modifying your Mustang and making it a true personal machine...

CAI, full exhaust, UD pullys, 4.10/4.30s gears, tune, 100 shot of nitrous

Nitrous best bang for the buck IMO,as far as cheap hp gains

 

Nitrous is good for HP but much harder for install than CAI and tune.

Gears cost about 500 installed, you are not going to do them yourself.

Pullies are good for 10 HP too.

 

Get your tune from Doug at ba ma ch ip.com he updates his tune for free later on which is a + over brenspeed. As for perfomance call derek at dagostinoracing.com he can guide you thru it depending on ur goals.

First and foremost, the best thing that you can do is learn to drive the car with the power it has now. No offense, but being 17you haven't beendriving [licensed] that long. The last thing that you want to do is wreck your new car and possibly hurt yourself/someone else.
