Question about tune loaded?
I recently loaded my b-ama 93 octane performance tune for my 2006 automatic GT. I noticed when i put car in drive(take it out of overdrive) , launch car so that the tranny can shift thru gears itself, it hits the 6200rpm shift point, shifts, but for a few seconds its like the car loses all throttle(even with car still floored) then comes back, hits 6200rpm's again , then shifts. Anyone else with this tune no what this might be? Or had similar problem? Any help is appreciated
I have a similar problem with my 4.0.
I didn't notice this problem until I loaded a 93 oct' tune from Diablo.
Floor it at highway speeds, goes into passing gear (3rd), speed climbs rapidly then, goes into 4th, then all the sudden it jumps back into 3rd again at which point there ain't no push left because it's nearly tach'd at that point, then it upshifts again backinto 4th.
I think it's a glitch in the factory transmission program and or a combination of engine management and tranny programming in conflict with the after market perf' tune. I am now using a 93 tune from b-ama and it still does the same thing.
I have not reloaded and tested the factory program as of yet because I'd have to remove my CAI and re-install the factory air box etc. Too lazy and I just get around the problem by holding off from floor boarding the throttle as I know pretty much where it will glitch anyway.
Other than that I'm very happy with my b-ama 93 tune that Doug provided me with. Farbetter than Diablo's 93 tune IMO.
If I were you white99GT, I'd try re-loading the factory tune and see what happens.
You'll be able to tell then if it's a chronic /factory glitch or a conflict with the custom tune causing it and or some other component level malfunction.
Good luck!

Yes, I'd say that would be the correct thing to do.
Go back to where you weren't having the problem and go from there.
You should be able to conclude then if it's the bama tune or a factory glitch.
Keep me posted okay?

I also checked trouble codes when I had the prior tune loaded and had no trouble codes. When I loaded b-ama tune and started having problems I went ahead and checked them again after his tune was loaded and now I have 2 codes 1 being P1000 which is Monitor testing not complete and P2196 02 sensor stuck rich bank1 sensor1. Didnt have these codes till I loaded his tune and ran car and started having problems. Its nasty out today so wont be getting car out to test it now that I reloaded the prior tune. I will keep ya posted.
P1000 means the ECU was reset or in this case had a new tune installed. P1000 also signifies re-setting the ECU via disconnecting and reconnecting the battery or ECU.
If faced with a dealer issue and they ask, tell them your battery went dead.
As for P2196, I'd let the diagnostic program cycle a few times then re-check for codes.
Also the P1000 will dissapear after a few cycles as well.
Did your check engine light come on at any time?
The stuck rich code will trip due to the a/f mixture being off most likely being caused by the new tune.
You could write to b-ama and tell them about it, see what they say.
Doug might send you a tweaked tune to fix the problems you're having.
I'm veryimpressed with b-ama's tunes. Superior to Diablo's IMO.

No, never got a check engine light at all. Im just worried too much I guess. But I never had these codes till I loaded his tune and never got any check engine lights. Like I said I have reloaded the previous tune but oo nasty out to go for a test run
Okay, no worries then.
It's in the middle of it's diagnostic mode which happensperiodically. It's normal.
You'll only get a check engine light if the fault code remians through a few diagnostic checks.
You probably get the same thing with the stock tune but you just haven't been checking for codes during that time. Maybe you put your foot in ita lot? ;-)
