Auto vert-B A M A chips 93 oct torque tune/ Steeda CAI spins from stop and chirps/kicks sideways shifting to 2nd and chirps 3rd easy. Stock tires no suspension mods.

i've chirped third on a good shift. we don't have concrete down here, just asphalt, on the streets so that could be a factor. i haven't powershifted the car yet but throwing second i get something longer than a squeal but no smoke or squirreliness the car stays straight as an arrow. my car is also 5spd so it's a bit different.

if you're auto the best way to come off the line sideways is with stock tires, 4.10 gears, and a higher stall converter with better torque multiplication.

I hope you realize that this "chirping" only has to do with shock load on the drivetrain. It really doesn't matter how much power you have, it's just a difference in speeds when you suddenly shift and dump the clutch, which is made up for by the tires spinning for a second.

Seriously I can "chirp" 3rd in an 80 hp honda civic.

Maybe we should do a how-to on "chirping" the stock stang? Sounds like driver error if not getting first gear squeal and 2nd or even3rd gear "chirp". JMO

I don't know about that. I could not for the life of me get chirp 2nd in my friends Mazda Protegee. I finally got it to do it once powershifting as fast as I could going up a hill and around a curve and it just barely did it.
FWD cars do chirp like crazy though. My friends RSX with full exhaust and intake could chirp all the way into 4th.

"Chirping" is for birds, Mustangs don't chirp the tires they smoke'm. From a dead stop without reving the motor I can drop the clutch and burn'em all through first, and all through second gear with ease. I wish I had the kind of traction the OP is complaining about.

With my BC tune even before I got my C&L Racer CAI and acompanied tunes I could get 2nd to chirp HARD and then third a bit. I have the shift pressures upped by 25% on all but 5th gear and it's upped 20%. Stock it probably would have to have bald tires or be on black ice to do that.

Ive chirped 3rd in my car stock but I do have a 5sp. Also ive had traction control cut me off going into 3rd recently. usually when I down shift at 65-70 on the highway traction control will cut me off there too.
